324th Reunion 28 - Dayton Ohio
60 Years after the End of WWII

President's Message - Paul Staddler

Alas!  The months are closing in on us as we prepare for our twenty-eighth 324th Regimental Reunion 2005 at the Double Tree Hotel in Dayton Ohio, September 9, 10 & 11, 2005 .  Within this newsletter you will find 324th regiment anit-tank company vonbraun capturethe registration from, including information on choice of meals, rooms and tours.  Irvin Barrow and Jan Libby has put together a reunion package that will meet our needs, while getting us some of the best rates available.   I extend a personal invitation to spouses and family members of veterans who are no longer with us to come join us.   We now have about two family members attending for every veteran, and you will fit right in.  I hope you will consider attending.   60th Anniversary Special:  Jim Slawinsky is bringing his 44th/324th Museum to the reunion.  This is another good reason to bring family members with you to view these important artifacts.  Return your registration forms and checks (found in the Wildcat Newsletter of June 2005) by August 11, 2005, to our Secretary, Harry Libby at:

1410 Shirley Street
Middelton, WI   53562-3731

All checks should be made out to 324th Infantry Regiment Association.

Many thanks to all who have sent us notes over the past year, along with dues and gifts.  It's nice to receive compliments, and good when you offer suggestions for improvements.  Treasurer Irvin Barrow and Secretary Harry Libby have now completed a year in office and the transition from Halon's records is complete, although not without a few bumps along the way.  Thank you for bind understanding.  As promised, those of you who have renewed your dues received membership cards stating so.  Several of your inquiries were passed along to our newly appointed  Historian Lora Cann, who was able to provide assistance.  The highlight of my years as your President was my trip to Strasbourg last November as they celebrated the 60th Anniversary of their liberation.  My report of that trip as covered in the February issue of Wildcat news, but I'm anxious to share other highlights with you in person at Dayton.

Sadly, we also noted the names of our members who have gone to their final rest.  We will always welcome the widows and family members to our reunions.
